Kamishibai Trick or Treat 2009What: a kamishibai fanwork guessing game event!
Where: the internets!
When: all month!
Why: It’s almost Halloween, mofos!
Prizes: none; it’s just for fun! Maybe some goofy award images.
It’s October, ladies and gents-- the month of crazy, ghoulish shenanigans! So let’s have a Halloween themed fan game for us all to play. Anyone can participate; it’s the Kamishibai Trick or Treat!
How It Works
Everyone who wishes to enter creates one or more kamishibai related Halloween themed fanworks. They can be anything; fanart, photography, fanfiction, sculpture, even music. Whatever you like, so long as it ties in with kamishibai and Halloween.

After your entry is complete, you can log into the special Trick or Treat account to add your entry, anonymously, to this thread. That way no one will know who did what. To get the login password for the Trick or Treat account, PM myself to say you’re interested in participating, and I’ll pass the login info along to you. Discussion is encouraged and guesses are allowed all through the course of the event.

The Trick or Treat account will be shut down at 11:59pm on October 31st.

On November 1st, all participants are encouraged to reveal their identities--- and we can see just how many people were tricked, and who guessed correctly!

There is no limit to the amount of times you can enter!
So, in short, there’s two main aspects of the event.
The TrickCan you trick everyone as to who you are? Can you create a fanwork without spilling the beans on your identity? If you’re drawing something, can you mimic someone else’s art style and set them up? Creating fanfiction, are you going to pair a couple that no one in the world would ever expect you to ship together? The name of the game is mystery--- mask your identity until the month is over at all costs. Play mindgames when discussing it! See someone guessing you made your entry? Talk them out of it! Make more entries to throw them off the trail. Can you successfully stump everyone? It’s all about the trick!
The TreatHopefully we come out of this with a decent amount of fanwork! And everyone LOVES getting fan gifts, don’t they? Consider it the internet form of candy. Mm, candy.
Rules and Guidelines (because they need to be here)
Don’t make art for yourself; I know that would stand to be a good trick, but don’t do it. The point is to hand out goodies to others while playing for mystery at the same time. Doing crossovers including your own work is okay though, so long as it’s not all about you.

I’m running this event on good faith. Don’t abuse the Trick or Treat account login, or post anything mean or troll-y because it’s mostly anonymous. I trust you guys not to do this, but I have to say it anyway. Doing that kinda crap will prevent me from wanting to hold similar events in the future.

for hosting, you're on your own. Make a new, anonymous photobucket account, or ask a friend to host a file for you to throw people off the trail. If I entered something and it was hosted at murderofcrows.org, you'd know it was me, ¿verdad? So cover your tracks!

All entries must be Halloween themed! This means either ghosts and pumpkins and all that crap, or dressing up in costumes FOR Halloween. So long as you can relate it to Halloween somehow, it's kosher.

Even if you're not submitting fanworks, you are still welcome to guess and discuss. If you want to really mess people up, don't tell them that you're not entering anything!
