Found my pen after it had been lost for a couple of weeks, even though I know I have NEKP coming up and a challenge, I had an idea that stuck with me. It's a fairy tale and here's an image from it. Name the source story and get a cookie!

BTW: Where the hell is everyone. :P

"The Crane Wife" by the Decemberists? (I know that the song itself is probably based off of a real story, but I don't know what.)


Don't worry, winter times are slow times for kamishibai. This place will probably pick up steam again soon, it just comes in spurts.

Yeah, the song is based off an old Japanese folktale. And I"m a sucker for fairy tales AND the Decemberists.

Your art style has changed quite a bit from the days of Miko, Jo!

This story looks like a quite a pearl thus far (I always love how you kind of spin on traditional character types and looks)
