It seems that there are less and less stories ever year and a lot of us are struggling to stay in it so is it finally dieing after all these year?

I don't think it's dying any more than has been in years prior. We've had dry spells a lot longer than this, I believe, and we're just having a lull in productivity while everyone got overwhelmed with holidays and school and whatever else! Considering there are only a few dozen of us into kami actively on a good day, I doubt we're any worse off than we've been before. We're all far too stubborn to let it die and stay dead, and we've proven that many, many times over.

Besides, last year (2009) was really productive! :)

Kamishibai, in my opinion isn't dead because it's created a certain space where some of us can work.

I think making kamishibai...productive beyond the community is the challenge. Going away and doing stuff has changed my outlook on how to work kamishibai.

If we could get that dark screen fixed we'd be IN the money. But honestly I have LOOKED all over the internet to find an alternative that is just as good and it just doesn't exist. I have tried Ren'ai only to discover that is does more than I need. In fact the only thing it offers that kamishibai doesn't (that I find useful) is the changing BG's and the larger screen (full screen/window)

Kamishibai is so singular and one of kind its just up to us to see where it goes and how we take it.

Well, I don't know about dead... But I do think persuading new blood to start making kamishibai is going to be difficult. The program is pretty dated, what with the tiny picture size and so forth.

I must admit that in all honesty, I don't see myself creating any long, multi-part epics in kamshibai, but I'm all for goofy one-shots. And maybe even not so goofy ones.
